OUT OF STATE APPLICANTS

Eligibility Requirements:

1.  Completion of a basic police academy recognized under the Peace Officers' Standards and Training (POST) for the state where trained.                                                               
2.  POST recognized certification as a police officer with full arrest authority in the state where trained.
3.  Past or present full-time employment as a police officer in the state where trained. 
4.  Successful completion of Pennsylvania's certification exam. The certification exam is a 200 question multiple choice scenario based exam in which applicants are given three hours and 15 minutes to complete. Please note that the certification exam does NOT certify you, it only deems you eligible for certification. Upon successful completion of the certification exam, the hiring police department/agency will submit a Waiver of Training application and other requirements.
