CADET TESTING AnnouNcements

Applications submitted January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017 - selection cycle 6011

The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) is currently accepting applications for State Police Cadet.
The entry-level law enforcement examination for the position of Cadet is periodically administered by the Pennsylvania State Civil Service Commission (SCSC) at its computer-based testing centers.  The next written examination is tentatively scheduled for February 2018.   Tentative test dates are subject to change. 
Applications for the position of Cadet that are received after 11:59 p.m., December 31, 2017 will be held on file for future examinations.
At the end of the application period, qualified applicants for the position of PSP Cadet will be notified via email, with instructions on how to register with SCSC to take the entry-level law enforcement examination.  Others who attempt to register with SCSC, who have not been pre-qualified by PSP, will be denied.
 
Since qualified candidates will receive instructions by email, it is important that contact information is current.  To update contact information, candidates may log back into the application using their email address and password.

Applications submitted July 1, 2016 to December 31, 2016 – selection cycle 6010
The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Cadet Oral Examinations were administered from March 6, 2017 through March 12, 2017 and have now concluded. 
Oral Examinations were administered only to those candidates who applied online from July 1, 2016 through December 31, 2016 and achieved a passing score on the Written Test administered from January 30, 2017, to February 18, 2017.  Oral examination results and final list rankings notices were emailed on March 29, 2017 to those candidates who participated in the Oral Examination.
The PSP will contact candidates for further processing, in rank order, according to the needs of the Department.

Candidates who participated in the Oral Examination in March 2017 and did not receive an email notification are advised to email
ra-entrylevelexam@pa.gov with a message including full name and last four digits of Social Security number.  Oral Examination results and final list rankings are not available online.  Candidates are advised to check “junk” or “spam” files prior to emailing ra-entrylevelexam@pa.gov.

Candidates, whose contact information has changed since initial application, are encouraged to update contact information to include mailing address, email address, and telephone number, via their online applicant profile.  If contact information is not up to date candidates may not receive important future testing information or updates.

Applications submitted January 1, 2016 to June 30, 2016 – Selection cycle 6009

Candidates from the 6009 selection cycle who received a conditional offer of employment and were invited to Physical Readiness Processing will continue processing until appointed to a Cadet class or disqualified.
 
The 6009 eligibility list has now been superseded by the 6010 eligibility list.  Candidates from the 6009 selection cycle who have not received a conditional offer of employment will not be processed.  To be considered for future eligibility lists, applicants are required to submit a new application.
 
The PSP will contact candidates for further processing, in rank order, according to the needs of the Department.
