Course Description: Pre-requisite: Technical Collision Investigation (or equivalent). A copy of the certificate must be sent along with the application. A pretest will be administered prior to course attendance.
This course is designed to further investigate specific details concerning collision investigation, with heavy emphasis on math and vehicle dynamics. The theory of conservation of momentum is thoroughly examined, along with “CRUSH” and energy formulae, and there is heavy reliance upon the theories and formulae learned in the lower levels of collision investigation. Course-related outdoor exercises will be conducted.
Additional Information: Special Instructions: Participants are required to bring a scientific calculator (square, square root, sine, cosine, and tangent functions) and if available, a “Blue Blitz” traffic template. Participants should review formulae and information from previous collision courses prior to beginning the course.
Completion of this course does not guarantee Department members a position as a Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Specialist.
