New Employee Orientation

 

Course Description: This is a mandatory training for all new civilian employees within the first six months of hire. This course will supplement, not replace, the current orientation given to new employees. It will focus on the “nontechnical” aspects of working for the Department. Topics will include: the history, mission, and core ideology of the Pennsylvania State Police; Sexual Harassment and Diversity training; customer service; and organizational structure and functions. In addition, participants will receive the Vision, Mission, and Ethics – Bringing It All Together and Honor of the Force courses required of all civilian employees.

Instructional Hours: 5 Days/30 Hours

Instructional Objectives:  After completion, the student will be able to:

  •  Obtain a better knowledge of the Pennsylvania State Police; including the history, mission, and core ideology.
  •  Understand what Sexual Harassment and Diversity entails.

Audience: Civilians; PCOs
