Applications submitted July 1, 2018 to Present - selection cycle 6013
 
The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) is currently accepting applications for State Police Cadet until 11:59 pm on December 31, 2018.  Online applications must be completed and accepted prior to the 11:59 pm deadline on December 31, 2018 in order to be considered for written testing in early 2019.  Applications received after 11:59 pm on December 31st will be held for consideration for the 6014 selection cycle, beginning on January 1, 2019.
 
At the end of the application period, qualified applicants for the position of PSP Cadet will be notified via email, with instructions on how to register with SCSC to take the entry-level law enforcement examination.  Others who attempt to register with SCSC, who have not been pre-qualified by PSP, will be denied.
 
The entry-level law enforcement examination for the position of Cadet will be administered by the Pennsylvania State Civil Service Commission (SCSC) at its computer-based testing centers throughout Pennsylvania.
 
Since qualified candidates will receive instructions by email, it is important that contact information is current.  To update contact information, candidates may log back into the application using their email address and password.
 
Questions related to the written examination should be referred to the Public Safety Human Resource Delivery Center, Specialized PSP Placement Section (SPPS), by email at ra-entrylevelexam@pa.gov.
 
Applications submitted January 3, 2018 to June 30, 2018 - selection cycle 6012
 
The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) entry-level law enforcement written examination for the position of Cadet is scheduled from Monday, August 6, 2018 through Saturday, August 18, 2018. The test will be administered by the Pennsylvania State Civil Service Commission (SCSC) at its computer-based testing centers, as well as a one-day administration at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, New York, New York on Monday, August 13, 2018.
 
When scheduling the written examination on the State Civil Service Commission website, please take note that your information will need to be entered in all capital letters. If you continue to have problems with logging in, please contact the SCSC directly at 717-787-2935.
 
Oral examinations will be administered to those candidates who achieve a passing score on the written test.
 
On Friday, July 6, 2018 qualified applicants for the positions of PSP Cadet were notified, via email, with instructions on how to register with SCSC to participate in the written examination. Others who attempt to register with SCSC who have not been pre-qualified by PSP will be denied.
 
Qualified applicants may schedule the written examination on the SCSC website www.scsc.pa.gov between 9:00 AM EDT July 20, 2018 through August 18, 2018. Qualified applicants may appear at any test site and be processed as a walk-in on a space available basis.  (NOTE*:  The John Jay College of Criminal Justice testing facility in New York City will not accept walk-in candidates.)

Applications submitted January 3, 2017 to January 2, 2018 – selection cycle 6011
 
Candidates from the 6011 selection cycle who received a conditional offer of employment and were invited to Physical Readiness Processing will continue processing until appointed to a Cadet class or disqualified.
 
The 6010 eligibility list has been superseded by the 6011 eligibility list.  Candidates from the 6010 selection cycle who have not received a conditional offer of employment will not be processed.  To be considered for each new eligibility list, applicants are required to submit a new application for each testing cycle.
