PSP Cadet Testing Announcements
Applications submitted August 1, 2019 – February 15, 2020 - selection cycle 6014:
The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) will begin accepting applications for the position of State Police Cadet for the 6014 selection cycle on August 1, 2019. The 6014 cycle will close at 11:59 pm on February 15, 2020. Applicants in the 6014 Cadet selection cycle will be processed for Cadet classes that begin
no earlier than January 2021.
PSP will offer the written examination on a weekly basis at computer-based testing centers throughout Pennsylvania beginning October 4, 2019. Qualified applicants will be permitted to take the written examination once during the 6014 Cadet selection cycle. The last day to take the written examination for the 6014 cycle will be February 29, 2020. Results for the written examination will be emailed to applicants no later than March 27, 2020.
Qualified applicants for the position of PSP Cadet will be instructed on how to register to take the entry-level law enforcement examination upon successful application.

Applications submitted July 1, 2018 to July 15, 2019 - selection cycle 6013:
Cadet – Oral Exams Concluded and Final Results Announcement
Pennsylvania State Police Cadet Oral Examinations were administered from September 27, 2019 through October 1, 2019 and have now concluded. Final results were emailed to candidates on Wednesday, October 8, 2019.
Candidates who took the Oral Examination in September-October 2019 and have not received an email notification are advised to email email@example.com with a message including full name and last four digits of their Social Security number. Oral Examination results are not available online. Candidates are advised to check “junk” or “spam” files prior to emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Oral Examination score was combined with that of the Written Examination and Veterans’ Preference Points or Child of a Fallen Officer Preference Points (if applicable) to create a rank on eligibility list 6013. The PSP will contact candidates for further processing in rank order, according to the needs of the Department.
Applicants ranked in the top 400 are now being referred to a polygraph examiner in early October 2019, for possible placement in the May 2020 Cadet class. Those not selected for the May 2020 class will be processed for the August 2020.
Applicants ranked 401 through 1670 will remain on the 6013 eligibility list, with the possibility of further processing based on Department needs.
The eligibility list remains in effect until it is superseded by a new list through the testing process. Applicants are required to submit a new application for each testing cycle. Applicants wishing to participate in future examinations are advised to complete a new application on our website at https://www.pspapplynow.pa.gov/.
Since qualified candidates receive communications by email, it is important that contact information is current. To update contact information, candidates should contact the Public Safety Human Resource Delivery Center, Specialized PSP Placement Section (SPPS) with updated information at email@example.com.

Applications submitted January 3, 2018 to June 30, 2018 - selection cycle 6012
The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) entry-level law enforcement written examination for the position of Cadet was administered in August 2018 and an oral examination concluded in October 2018. Rankings were announced via email.

Applicants ranked on the 6012 Cadet eligibility list may be invited for further processing in rank order, according to the Department’s needs. The 6012 Cadet eligibility list will remain in effect until superseded by the 6013 Cadet eligibility list.
