Introduction to Microsoft Excel

Course Description:  This course is an introduction to Microsoft Excel.  Microsoft Excel is a software program produced by Microsoft that allows users to organize, format and calculate data with formulas using a spreadsheet system. Excel permits users to arrange data to view several factors from different perspectives.  Visual Basic is used for applications in Excel, allowing users to create a variety of complex numerical methods.  Microsoft Excel can be used within the department to formulate schedules, keep track of various lists such as addresses and groups.  This is a beginner class for those that are looking to learn the basics of Microsoft Excel.  

Instructional Hours:  1 Day/8 Hours

Instructional Objectives:  Upon completion of this course, the student will:

  • Better understand the basic workings of Microsoft Excel.  
  • Be able to create and save worksheets as well as edit and replace data within a worksheet. 

Course Completion Requirements:  Attendance and successful completion of a knowledge check.

Audience:  PSP enlisted, MP, Civilian Employees, LEO, LCE
