SIG SAUER P227R Pistol Armorer Course
This armorer certification course will prepare students to fully service the SIG SAUER P227R pistol while maintaining the factory warranty. This hands-on program focuses on the mechanical functioning, complete disassembly/reassembly, maintenance, troubleshooting, and field repair of this pistol. Instructors will guide students through each step while encouraging active participation to ensure maximum retention of the material covered. Department Firearms Instructors will also gain the knowledge necessary to perform proper maintenance and inspection programs for the Department. A three (3) year certification is awarded upon successful completion of written and practical exams.
Instructional Hours: 1 Day/8 Hours
Instructional Objectives: Upon completion of this course, the student will receive the following instruction:
Introduction to SIG SAUER P227R pistol.
Examination of the SIG SAUER safety system.
Disassembly and assembly procedures: slide, frame, magazines.
A thorough examination of all pistol operations.
Operation function checks.
Sights: installation, adjustment.
Alternative maintenance methods.
Students will demonstrate proper disassembly, assembly, understanding of the operating system and proper parts replacement.
Additional Information: This course is voluntary and no overtime will be approved.
Audience: Pennsylvania State Police Firearms Instructor.
Prerequisite: Students must be a current Pennsylvania State Police Firearms Instructor.
Registration: Please register for the classes below using form SP 8-130. A copy of Pennsylvania State Police Firearm Instructor Certificate must be included with the application. All applications must be received 30 days prior to the course start date.
