Homeland Security and Terrorism for PCOS
Course Description: This course is to provide PCOs information on the types of terrorism, extremists, gangs, and hate groups; utilizing the information the Terrorism Screening Center provides; give a better understanding of the Departments guidelines for Homeland Security issues.
Instructional Hours: 1 Day/6 Hours
Instructional Objectives: After completion, the student will be able to:
Know examples of domestic and international terrorists, including sovereign citizens.
Be informed on the different types of other threats including extremists, gangs, and hate groups.
Be familiar with the Hazardous Materials, Guidebook and HazMat awareness.
Be familiar with call taking regarding bomb threats and suspicious activity.
Course Completion Requirements: Attendance and successful completion of a 10-question knowledge check.
Audience: PSP PCO. PCO (class can be altered and conducted at requesting municipality/911 Center or Academy by request)
