Homeland Security and Terrorism for PCOS

Course Description: This course is to provide PCOs information on the types of terrorism, extremists, gangs, and hate groups; utilizing the information the Terrorism Screening Center provides; give a better understanding of the Departments guidelines for Homeland Security issues.

Instructional Hours:  1 Day/6 Hours

Instructional Objectives:  After completion, the student will be able to:

  • Know examples of domestic and international terrorists, including sovereign citizens.
  • Be informed on the different types of other threats including extremists, gangs, and hate groups.
  • Be familiar with the Hazardous Materials, Guidebook and HazMat awareness.
  • Be familiar with call taking regarding bomb threats and suspicious activity.

Course Completion Requirements:  Attendance and successful completion of a 10-question knowledge check.

Audience:  PSP PCO. PCO (class can be altered and conducted at requesting municipality/911 Center or Academy by request)
