Luxottica Anti-Counterfeiting Training

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This workshop presents a rare opportunity for enforcement agencies to obtain vital knowledge into the world of Organized Crime, Retail Counterfeiting and how it relates to terrorism. Attendees will be trained on how to recognize counterfeit Luxottica brands, like Oakley, Ray-Ban and ESS in a closed-door environment, sharing their perspectives, discussing lessons learned and best practices, and exploring ways to enhance collaboration and cooperation. Types of targets to be discussed during the training include:  Interdiction Stops, Online Investigations, Offline targets (flea markets, swap shops, consignment, boutiques, gas stations, Facebook Marketplace etc.). These targets can lead to suppliers, distribution pipelines, warehouses and manufacturing plants around the world. Documentation, court preparation, supporting agencies and other brand owner contact information sharing will be discussed. This block of training is taught by a 26-year law enforcement interdiction investigator, now working in the corporate industry.  The Instructor conducts numerous Port of Entry CBP, ICE, FBI, Homeland Security and International Embassy Trainings a year. Seizure histories exceeding 1.5 million pieces a year, over $330,000,000.00 in retail. 

INSTRUCTIONAL HOURS:  1 Day / 5 Hours 

INSTRUCTIONAL OBJECTIVES:  During this course, participants will receive training specific in the following areas of law enforcement:

  • Recognize counterfeit Luxottica brands, like Oakley, Ray-Ban and ESS.
  • Investigations in the areas of flea markets, swap shops, consignment, boutiques, gas stations, Facebook Marketplace as well as other areas.
  • Conducting investigations which may lead to suppliers, distribution pipelines, warehouses and manufacturing plants around the world.
  • Preparation for court.
  • How to properly document the investigation.
