Private Claude F. Keesey

May 21, 1903 - January 4, 1927

Claude F. Keesey was born May 21, 1903 in York, Pennsylvania. He enlisted with the Constabulary on August 21, 1925 and was assigned to Troop C Reading and stationed at the Media sub-station. On January 4, 1927, at 10:25 p.m., Keesey and his passenger, Frank Minetti, 21, of Media, were on their way back from delivering a load of tear gas bombs.  Keesey was assisting in the capture of John Beard who had barricaded himself in his house. Keesey was traveling on Baltimore Pike after leaving West Chester when his vehicle skidded on the icy roadway and struck a utility pole. He was killed instantly, along with his passenger, Minetti.

Keesey is buried in St. Patrick's/St. Mary's Cemetery, York, Pennsylvania. He was survived by his parents Warrington and Lorena Keesey. Keesey, 23, completed one year and five months of Constabulary service.
